About Maji
Two words to describe Maji: Pure Soul
Affectionately known as the “Prayers Lady,” Maji was a beacon of warmth, always smiling with a humble grace that touched everyone she encountered. When greeted, she would lower her eyes, place her hands over her chest, and bow her head, offering prayers with deep sincerity and kindness. Her life was one of giving, caring, and embracing humility, simplicity, and joy. Despite the immense hardships she faced, Maji carried herself with unwavering strength and kindness every day.
A self-made woman, Maji lost both of her parents at a young age. At the age of 32, she faced another heartbreaking loss, her husband passed away. At the time, her son was 15 years old and her daughter just 12 years old. Raising two children alone, without formal education, was a tremendous challenge, especially during the war in her poverty-filled country.
Sharing everything she had was simply part of who she was, regardless of the circumstances. Her prayers carried a unique sense of power that brought peace for those who received them, instilling in them the belief that their dreams would come true. Through her words, people felt a deep connection with her, as though they had walked beside her through life’s struggles and triumphs.
Throughout it all, Maji lived selflessly, always putting others before herself, until her passing at the age of 95. Her strong morals, values, and ethics continue to live on in her grandson and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her dreams and legacy.
